Each year, the OU Club of Colorado awards several partial scholarships to deserving high school seniors from the states of Colorado and Wyoming that are bound for the University of Oklahoma.  These partial scholarships can range from $250  up to $2,000.  We have added the Daniel Dayton Scholarship which is awarded to the top scholarship applicant as voted by the committee. The past few years we’ve given out an average of $10,000 per year in partial scholarships!

The amount of scholarships, both dollar amounts and total scholarships awarded is completely dependent and limited by the amount of donations we have raised each year.

These partial scholarships will help the students pay for tuition, books, and other living expenses.  We award these scholarships based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, leadership, articulation of goals and plans and financial need.  Scholarships are open to all grade classifications from incoming Freshman to Graduate Students.  Past winners are welcome to reapply for the current year so long as they still attending the University of Oklahoma.

2018 Sooner Send OFF. Parents and students from Colorado heading to OU, getting to know one another.

Colorado now boast the fact that we are the second largest “feeder state” for new OU students going to OU, passing California, and trail only Texas in sending the most kids to the University of Oklahoma from outside of Oklahoma.   With that increase we also have our own part-time student recruiter that is local to Colorado.

The prospective students get to talk to each other, as well as meet local OU Alumni to ask questions and learn more about the University of Oklahoma. For more information on Student Recruitment events in the area and to get more information on attending OU, you should contact the University of Oklahoma Student Recruitment Office.

Student send off

Each summer before school starts the OU Club of Colorado hosts a gathering of new OU students from the area that are heading to the University of Oklahoma.  It is a great way for students to make new friends and meet fellow OU students so they won’t be alone the first day they are in Norman, and for parents to bond and get to share the experience of their children leaving to go to school.

Many of these new OU students will learn where each other will be living, if they are going through rush, if they want to share rides back home, exchange contact information, and even meet their new room-mates for the very first time!  There are several current OU students at the send-off for the new students to ask questions that they might have about what life is like in Norman, America!
